HRL Publisher Barbara Godwin on a once-in-a-lifetime ride in Versailles, France
Welcome to Fall!
First of all, I would like to formally introduce and welcome the members of the HRL team, Creative Director Cristina Miller, and Director of Web Development Christine Cruz. Without them, there would be no Horse & Rider Living. I am grateful for all they do to make this a reality.
And welcome everyone to a much anticipated season, fall! Wherever you live, fall brings welcome changes, whether cooler weather, brightly colored leaves, or festive holidays.
While those of us who reside in Florida hope to see a little cooler weather, other states such as North Carolina are enamored with the palette of color change in foliage.
While our worlds are still chaotic due to circumstances often beyond our control, we can relish in the idea that this is possibly the best season for horse owners, at least in the south.
Trail riding becomes less bug-infested and more enjoyable, and those who love the holidays are getting into their creative mode.
Horses and Halloween? Of course! Check out the video from Michelle Padgett of Unicorn & Centaur and her tips for creating the perfect costume for your horse; Michelle will take you on a creative ride!
Make a batch of cookies, one for you and one for your horse.
Check out the newest recipes from The Ranch Kitchen, whip up a few Halloween treats for the ghouls in your life, or plan a gourmet meal for Thanksgiving.
Above all, this season, enjoy who you are and what you love, horses! Know that if you own a horse, you are truly blessed this Thanksgiving, and you may be one of the few demographics that can continue doing what you love.
No matter what takes place in my life, I realize that I am lucky. I live “the horse life.” No matter how you define that, it is a blessing.
If you have something you would like to share with Horse & Rider Living readers, please contact us. Everyone has a story, and we would like to hear from you.
Most of all, thank you for visiting HRL.
