HRL Publisher Barbara Godwin on a once-in-a-lifetime ride in Versailles, France

Well, we are already more than a quarter of the way into a “new” year, and time is passing so quickly that you wonder if the world is just turning faster.  At least it seems to feel that way…

We at HRL have committed ourselves to a better world, a better horse world.  Whether it is the SAFE Act, the wild horse campaign, or just a safer and cleaner environment, it is a message we wish to prioritize.

I reached out to a government representative, a former supporter of the SAFE Act, with no response.  I did receive a generic email regarding his own agenda but frankly, I was disappointed. He is listed as a supporter on multiple advocacy bills; perhaps the contact was overlooked.  But it can’t end with one call or one email.  It takes a tidal wave of potential voters to make their voices heard and demand change.

Did you know there is a national advocacy day for horses?  It’s true – National Help A Horse Day is celebrated each year on April 26!  So what can we do to help a horse, to make a better world for them?  You may only be one person…but your voice can join thousands of others to make a real difference!

April 26 may be a dedicated day for horses, but we can do something EVERY day to help our equine friends and make the world a better place.

In the spirit of “Spring is a time for planning and projects”, Horse and Rider Living is realizing a long-time goal with initial concepts for a print option!  Online has is advantages but so does print.

We want to hear from you. Is a print edition something you’d like to see? As an equine enthusiast, are there subjects you would like to see covered? Are you interested in contributing? Please email us at horseandriderliving@gmail.com, and let us know your thoughts.

Thank you for your support! We wouldn’t be here without you and we appreciate each and every one of you.
