What a blast from the past! How could you not fall in love with this pickup truck? A 1956 Ford F-100 restored and modified, it is a true work of art.
Custom painted Sea Sprite Green with true patina, it features hand-painted pinstriping attributed to Mike Ayers of Pinstriping By Mikey. Chrome bumpers and chrome smoothie wheels wearing Coker of America whitewall tires (my favorite tires) are details that make this an eye-catcher on any road.
Interior is custom gray leather bench seating with original dash and a chrome factory heater.
The real beauty is under the hood, though; the motor alone is enough to generate accolades. Featuring a performance 428CI Cobra Jet engine, V8 with automatic transmission, it has a chrome batwing air cleaner and valve covers. The 428 FE on which the Cobra Jet was based, was introduced by Ford in 1966 and found mostly in muscle cars and the F series trucks.
The Cobra Jet was then introduced in 1968 and used primarily for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) races. Designed for the performance market, it quickly took off. In February of 1968, six Mustangs equipped with this motor were entered into the NHRA races with four making the finals. One ended up winning its class. Needless to say, it is still a desirable engine today.
This truck is for sale at FSD Hot Rod Ranch located in Eustis, Florida.
